Forever Young

"Hey.." I say softly. " you can tell me.. I can help."

"My boyfriend cheated on me and then got together with the girl I had recently tortured." I say, still looking down

"I see.." I reach through the bars and tilt her head up."that love is what makes you not a demon".. " was this Jasper?"

I shake my head. "No, it was a different guy." I say

" I see.. " I stand up and pase the room. "Um.. Does Jasper know what you were doing?"

"No, I didn't want him to see me like that."

"And you still don't I'm assuming?" I look at her differently looking at her tattered hair and blood stained cloths... She is a wreck.

Of course that's partly me

"I never want him to see me like that." I say

I put my hand in my pocket and hold the silver cross that's sewn in. Hiding the pain of the burn. I'm still a demon. "Of course not" I point to the pictures on the wall. "You see them?"

"Yes." I say, not really knowing where he's going

"They only want to see their family once more.. There family wants to see them." I throw two knives into two pictures. "They were upset too.. Only not because someone cheated on them. But because you cheated them out of time with their loved ones." I reach into my pocket and pull out two newspaper articles. "They tried what you and I tried.. Only they were not cursed." I toss the articles describing suicides into her cell.

I read the articles in silence. "Are you going to let me out of this cage?" I ask and hand them back to him

"Both of their husbands were at different clubs.. On stag night."

"Are you going to do this again?"

"No."

I pull a remote out of my pocket and almost push the button to open the cage but the phone rings. "Pizza is here" I pocket the remote and dissapear.. I come back a few minutes later with pizza and a 6 pack. "You drink?"

"Sometimes."

"Catch" I toss a bottle to her and slide my chair closer to the cell and open the pizza box.

"I thought you were going to let me out."

"Was I?" I try to hide the fact that I kept her here on purpose. I pull the remote out and hesitation strikes me. "You promise?" I look into her eyes.

"Yes." I say

I push the button and a loud buzzing sound pulls back the lock and the door springs open just a few inches.

I tentatively walk out of the cage

I pull up a chair and indicate to her to sit.. But I do so kindly without looking her in the face. I pull the pizza box open and start to eat.
